Former Attorney General Eric Holder said at a campaign event for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams this week that when Republicans “go low,” Democrats should “kick them.”
“It’s on us as Democrats to be as tough as they are, to be as dedicated as they are, to be as committed as they are,” Holder said. “Michelle always says — Michelle Obama, I love her … she always says that, you know, when they go low, we go high.”
“No,” Holder asserted. “When they go low, we kick them.”
The audience cheered and laughed in response.
“Thats what this new Democratic Party is about,” Holder said. “We’re proud as hell to be Democrats, we’re going to fight for the ideals of the Democratic Party … we’re in this to win.”
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton similarly said in a Tuesday interview with CNN that she believes it is impossible to be civil with a “political party that wants to destroy what you stand for.”
“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!” Waters exclaimed.
